An original medical skin disease painting of a woman.
This is actually a lovely piece of watercolour painting with the colours still clear, really delicate and quite beautiful in many ways.
It was probably the original painting which would then be used to copy into prints to go in medical journals for diagnosing.
Printed on the back is Lechertier, Barbe & Co, Artists' Colourmen, 60 Regent Street, London.
Lechertier, Barbe & Co were described as a very old-established artist's colour shop, actually a musical instrument maker until 1844, brush importer by 1833, artists’ colourmen by 1844, a place to buy your artist materials.
