Scratch built mid 20th century clown head with a black hat.
Made of some sort of composite material which has been hand painted and varnished within an inch of it's life.
The wood and metal base makes us think it was maybe used on a pole around the circus ring, or outside around the tent.

Height from tip of the hat to base is around 67cm, the widest point across the face is around 25cm.
