French and circa 1930's Le masque d' étude or the study mask.
This is a didactic medical model of a face with immaculate hand painted and annotated facial muscles and primary veins.
Hand painted with each tiny line written in neat longhand and then glazed it is signed in longhand with a flourish :

And then stamped :
Madame Simone Laube Proffesseur de l'Ens..........Tec......, 8 Ave de La Fr.... PARIS16' and numbered No 512.
A plaster cast of, could it be Madame herself's face?
The head measures 31.5 cm long & 19.5 cm width.
The Perspex box is 45 cm in height, width 30 cm and depth 32 cm.
There is a chip to the top of the plaque at the back and scuffing’s and marks commensurate with its age.
